Abstract The development of Ir-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of α-amino-β-keto ester hydrochlorides is described. This reaction proceeds through a dynamic kinetic resolution to produce anti-β-hydroxy-α-amino acid esters in a high diastereo-and enantioselective manner.
