Abstract

A series of cyclic sulfones has been synthesized and their activity against β-ketoacyl-ACP- synthase III (FabH) has been investigated. The compounds are selectively active against Escherichia coli FabH (ecFabH), but not Mycobacterium tuberculosis FabH (mtFabH) or Plasmodium falciparum KASIII (PfKASIII).
