Abstract

The proof that in this compound bromine occupies position (11) or (IV) was further confirmed as follows: The monobromo compound, melting at 126', was nitrated at a temperature (30- 35') slightly above that of the room, and gave a monobromodinitro compound, melting at 77O, which was characterized by the study of several of its derivatives (see experimental part).
