Several β-chloroalkyl chloroformates have been treated with aziridines (ethylenimine or propylenimine) to obtain excellent yields of β-chloroalkyl aziridinylformates. In each case, it was found that the aziridinylformates rearranged upon thermloysis to give good yields of N- (β-chloroalkyl)-2-oxazolidones.
