Abstract

The THF complex of 2,6-diboraadamantane, 10, was pre- pared as follows. To a suspension of 5.4 g (28 mmol) of 9 in 40 mL of THF was added at 25 "C 1.0 mL (19 mmol) of H3B. SMez with stirring. After 2 h, the solvent was pumped off, and the resulting solid was recrystallized from a mixture of CHzClz and pentane to obtain 5.9 g (76% yield) of the bis(THF) complex: mp 145-147 "C; 'H NMR (CDCb), multiplet cen- tered on 6 4.3 (8 H, a protons of THF), ...
