Abstract

Abstract Reaction of 2-chloroquinoxaline-3-carbonitril (1) with different types of nucleophiles such as thiourea, sodium methoxide, aniline, a-mercaptoacetic acid, ethyl-α- mercaptoacetate and anthranilic acid have been studied. Hydrolysis of 3-carbonitril-2 (lH)- quinoxalinthione (11) with HCI gave 2 (1H)-quinoxalinone-3-carboxamide (VIII).
