Abstract

Difluoroacetaldehyde ethyl hemiacetal (11, prepared from ethyl difluoroacetate and lithium aluminum hydride in diethyl ether, was found to be a potential difluoroethylating reagent for the preparation of a wide variety of difluoromethylated compounds.
