Electronic absorption spectra have been recorded for lithium salts of twelve substituted fluorenes in cyclohexylamine. The compounds include 2-fluorofluorene1 2- dimethylaminofluorene, the five isomeric methylfluorenes, and the five methoxyfluorenes.
