Abstract Lappaconitine and N-deacetyllappaconitine derivatives containing bromine and iodine atoms in the aromatic moiety were synthesized. The Heck cross-coupling of these halides with ethyl acrylate or 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine afforded new olefinated lappaconitine derivatives.
