Near infrared spectra of compounds containing two peptide bonds have been measured in dilute carbon tetrachloride solutions and for each of them there have been found two absorption peaks at 2.9 and at 3.0 I* arising from the XH group in the free state and that involved in the intramolecular hydrogen bonding, respectively.
