Found: C, 81.0; H, 8.1. a,a'-Diethyl-4 '-acetoxy-4-acetoxyacetylstilbene (IX) .- The acid chloride from 1.00 g. of the acetoxystilbene acid dissolved in 10 cc. of dry benzene was added dropwise to a cold (0-5 ") ethereal solution of diazomethane (prepared from 4.4 g. of nitrosomethylurea, dried over potassium hydroxide and distilled).
