Abstract: Exceptionally high trans (anti) stereoselectivities are obtained in rhodium (I1) carboxylate and carboxamide catalyzed alkene cyclopropanation reactions with 2, 6-di-rert- butyl-4-methylphenyl diazoacetate (BDA). With monosubstituted ethylenes, use of rhodium (I1) acetamide provides a 10-2056 increase in the relative yield of the transdisubstituted cyclopropane.
