Abstract Cyclic voltammetry and controlled-potential (bulk) electrolysis have been used to investigate the direct reduction of phthalide at carbon electrodes in dimethylformamide (DMF) containing 0.10 M tetramethylammonium perchlorate (TMAP) or tetra-n- butylammonium perchlorate (TBAP).
