Abstract

It was shown earlier that reductive ring cleavage of 5-o-oxyalkylsubstituted 2-isoxazolines fol- lowed by acid-catalyzed cyclization led to lFurans. 1 Analogously, the Sa-aminoalkyl- substituted 2-isoxazolines gave pyrroles 2 [eqn.(1)]. In the present work this method is applied to the preparation of biheteroaromatic compounds, some of which are more cumbersome to prepare by other methods.
