Abstract The reaction of R 3 P Au CH 3 (R 3 P= TolPh 2 P or Me 2 PhP) with organosilicon halides HSiR 2 Cl (HSiPh 2 Cl, HSiMeCl 2, HSiMe 2 Cl) yields R 3 P Au Cl and the corresponding methylated silanes HSiR 2 CH 3 by CH 3/Cl exchange. Oxidative addition of the Si H group of several H-silanes to the gold center is not observed.
