Abstract

Compound V, 5, 7-dichloro-3-carbethoxymethoxybenzo-2, 1, 3-thiadiazole, could not be obtained by this method and was synthesized as described in [9]. Chlorination of compound III with SO2C12 or Cla (3-5 min) in acetic acid or DMFA gave a mixture of V and 5-chloro-4, 7- dioxo-4, 7-dihydrobenzo-2, 1, 3-thiadiazole (Vl), Which could not be separated by crystallization or vacuum distillation.
