Abstract

Dipole moments of ditellurides I-IV and telluroesters V, VI have been mesaured in benzene solution. The results are consistent with the non-planar C2 conformation of ditellurides, the same as in the crystalline state, and with the planar Z conformation of telluroesters. In general, there is no obvious difference when compared with corresponding oxygen, sulphur, and selenium compounds.
