Abstract

The synthesis of 17 substituted isothiocyanatochalcones and some of their intermediates, such as nitrochalcones and aminochalcones, is described. It has been found on the basis of analysis of the IR spectra of the chalcones under study that the formation of rotation isomers is supressed in the presence of a strongly electron-withdrawing group in position 4.
