Abstract

Abstract p-Bromobenzazide, from nitrous acid and p-bromobenzhydrazide, was condensed in hot ligroin solution with various kinds of alcohols, giving solid, crystalline urethanes with distinct melting points. These urethanes are considered as suitable derivatives for the identification of alcohols.
