Abstract Forty unsymmetric N-phenyl-N′-pyrimidylurea derivatives were synthesized in moderate-to-good yields by one-pot reductive carbonylation of nitroaromatics using selenium or selenium dioxide as the catalyst, aminopyrimidine derivatives as co-reagents, and carbon monoxide as the carbonyl source.
