Abstract

Abstract Even xenon reacts with difluorovinylidene at cryogenic temperatures to form a charge-transfer complex (see picture). Several other reactions, including the addition of N 2 or CO, the addition to π systems and the insertion into covalent bonds have been investigated by means of matrix isolation spectroscopy and ab initio calculations.
