Abstract

To help define the utility of dimethylformamide as a reaction medium for the alkylation of enolate anions, results obtained under n variety of conditione are reported for the alkylation of alkali and alkaline earth metal salts of acetoacetic ester and of some of ita monosubstituted derivatives.
