Abstract

It has been shown in previous communications' that 4-chlorodiphenyl condenses smoothly with arsenic and antimony chlorides in the presence of sodium. The resulting tri-arylated metalloids in general have properties similar to the corresponding phenyl compounds and are useful for the preparation of derivatives containing one, two or three diphenyl groups.
