Abstract

Conclusion Oxidation of E by peroxy radicals follows the same pathway found for other hindered phenols, but the chemistry is more complicated than for 2, 6-di-tert-butyl phenols because about half the interactions between E. and ROz. lead to products other than peroxy ketal 2, probably ad-dition at o-methyl positions.
