Abstract The reaction of (CF 3 COO) Ag with LiR gives [Bu 4 N][AgR 2](R= C 6 F 5 or C 6 Cl 5). The latter react with acids HX to give organoargentated (I) derivatives of the types [Bu 4 N][AgRX](X= CH 3 COO, CF 3 COO or 8-oxyquinolate) or [Bu 4 N] 2 {[Ag (C 6-F 5)] 2 BiBzIm}(BiBzIm= bibenzimidazolate), whilst the reaction with silver salts AgX yields [Bu 4 N]{[Ag (C 6 F 5)] 2 X}(X= NO 3 or CF 3 COO) or AgR (X= ClO 4).
