Abstract

The synthesis and biological activities of acidic, basic and neutral types of butyric acid (BA) prodrugs possessing increased aqueous solubility are described. The compounds are butyroyloxyalkyl derivatives of carboxylic acids, which possess functionalities suitable for aqueous solubilization.
