Abstract

In [I] the results of a study of the antimicrobial properties of a number of heterocyclic tellurium (Te) compounds were reported. It was established that these compounds are active toward Gram-positive flora; inorganic compounds of Te (Te02, K2TeO4) have a toxic effect on Gram- negative flora, whereas the Gram-positive flora grow in this case, and they are colored black by reduced Te. The preparation of elective media is based on this property of K2TeO2
