Terrahedron 1967, 23, 2701.(3) The methoxycyclopentadienes are fairly stable in dilute solution but rapidly polymerize as a neat liquid.'H NMR (CD, COCD,) 2.85 (m, 5-H), 3.58 (s, OCH,), 5.05 (t, J= 2 Hz, IH of 6), 5.25 (m, 2-H of 5), 5.55 (dq, J 6, 1.5 Hz, 4-H of 5), 6.2-6.3 (m, 3-H of 5, 3, 4-H of 6). On most GC columns the mixture gave a single peak; ...
