Abstract The reaction of aldehyde phenylsulfonylhydrazones (VII-XI) with diazotized aromatic and heterocyclic primary amines gave the tetrazoles (XIV-XIX). The yield of the tetrazoles was found to depend to some extent on the nature of the substituent present in the aldehyde moiety. The structures of the tetrazoles obtained was established on the basis of their analytical and spectral data. A tentative explanation for their formation is proposed. ...
