Abstract

Figure 2. UV spectra of 48 (---), 49 (-), 50 (-. a-), 51 (---), and 52 (---) in CHCI,. penta [def] phenanthrene (66) was isolated; 66 was also obtained in a 72% yield by treatment of 73 (237 mg, 1 mmol) with Ac, O (0.12 mL, 1.3 mmol) and AIC13 (0.54 g, 4 mmol) in PhNO,(20 mL) at 20 OC for 20 h.
