Abstract

The hydrolysis rates of methyl and dodecyl p-nitrophenyl carbonates in nonpolar organic solvents such as benzene and hexane were greatly enhanced by dodecylammonium propionate, DAP. The rate of hydrolysis was proportional to the square of the detergent concentration.
