Abstract

O, O-Dialkyl-S-aryl-phosphorothioates are thermally unstable and decompose readily at a temperature of about 150° with formation of alkyl aryl sulfides and polymeric alkyl meta-or- polyphosphates. Differences in reactivity within a series of 33 phosphorothioates are rationalized on the basis of steric and electromeric effects.
