Abstract

In a recent paper from this Laboratory'the synthesis of a-furfuryl chloride and a few a-furfuryl ethers was described. The preparation of tetrahydrofurfuryl chloride has now been accomplished by a similar application of the Darzens reaction to tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol.
