Abstract

All of the compounds obtained are stable crystalline products. The increase in stability towards oxidizing agents such as anmospheric oxygen by the introduction of! actone rings into the 1, 4-dihydropyridine molecule is confirmed by electrochemical oxidation. The half- wave potential of difuro-l, 4-dihydropyridines is 0.3 V higher than that of the corresponding 1, 4-dihydropyridines.
