Abstract

Monofluoro analogs of eugenol methyl ether as potential attractants for the Oriental fruit fly (Bactrocera dorsalis, Hendel) were synthesized using selective fluorination reactions: electrophilic hydro-and iodofluorination, fluorodehydroxylation with (diethy1amido) sulfur trifluoride (DAST), and Wittig fluoroolefination through the stabilized ylides.
