Abstract Treating 2, 5-dimethyl-4-ethoxycarbonyl-and 2, 5-dimethyl-4-carboxypyrroles with iodine furnished 3-iodo-2, 5-dimethyl-4-ethoxycarbonyl-and 3, 4-diiodo-2, 5- dimethylpyrroles.
