Abstract

Here, we would like to report that a Teflon ® magnetic stirring bar with a deposit of palladium black (Pd/TMSB) is an easily handled, non-flammable catalyst, easy to remove from the reaction media. This catalyst can be used in the hydrogenation of olefins and alkynes and is highly chemoselective as it can not perform the hydrogenolysis of cyclopropanes, benzyl ethers and allylamines.
