Abstract

Identification was based on the presence of the characteristic absorption bands of the SOa group (1170 and 1230 cm-X), CO ester group (1730 cm-X), and free NH2 and am• groups (1540, 3390, 3295, 3370, and 3320 cm-:). The mass spectra of the compounds examined (Ia, f) contain the molecular ions and explicable fragment ions. Fragmentation involves stepwise loss of the side chain.
