Abstract

The acid catalysed. rearrangements of allylic alcohols have been studied in many systems1- 3. The work of Burton and Ingold4 on the rearrangements of I-phenylallyl alcohols was of a qualitative character. Braude and coworkers5-7 carried out a detailed kinetic investigation of acid catalysed rearrangements of allylic alcohols.
