Abstract

In continuation of the search for 5-fluorouracil derivatives of low toxicity [1, 2], we have synthesized some new N-benzyl-5-ftuorouracils (In-e) with a range of substituents in the benzene ring. The choice of compounds (Ia-e) was due to the fact that certain N-substituted uracils have been found to possess high antitumor activity [1-3].
