Abstract

A new modification of the alkylation reaction was investigated. It was found that some active methylene compounds, such as malononitrile, cyanoacetamide, and substituted cyanoacetamide, could be successfully alkylated with alkyl halide to form the corresponding C-alkylation products without the condensing agent in liquid ammonia.
