Abstract

Abstract (2S, 3R, 4E)-1-O-(β-D-Glucopyranosyl)-N-[30′-(linoleoyloxy) triacontanoyl]-4- icosasphingenine (1) was synthesized from D-glucose, L-serine, 15-pentadecanolide, and linoleic acid. The high-field 1 H-NMR spectrum of 1 was identical with that of the esterified cerebroside isolated from human and pig epidermis.
