Abstract

Abstract Reduction of some substituted quinoline-4-carboxylic acids was studied. The reduction of 2-alkylquinoline-4-carboxylic acids with Raney nickel in aqueous alkali was stereoselective, and the resulting 2-alkyl-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydroquinoline-4-carboxylic acids were individual cis isomers.
