Abstract The activation of elemental sulfur (S 8) has been achieved by means of electrogenerated cyanomethyl anion [easily obtained by galvanostatic reduction from acetonitrile/tetraethylammonium hexafluorophosphate (MeCN-Et 4 NPF 6)].
