Abstract In the presence of Et 3 N, the reaction of 1, 3-bis [(2-chloro) benzene] triazene (HL) with CuCl or AgNO 3 gives the triazenide complexes {Cu 2 (L) 2}(1) and {Ag 2 (L) 2}(2), respectively. The X-ray crystal structures of both complexes were obtained. The metal–metal distances (Cu··· Cu and Ag··· Ag) are 2.4974 (5) and 2.7208 (5) Å, respectively.
