Abstract

Abstract: The synthesis of a series of sterically blocked and imidazole-appended meso- diphenyletioporphyrins is described. These hybrid porphyrins have good solubility and spectroscopic properties of 8-substituted porphyrins as well as the orientation specificity of ortho-position-derivatized tetraphenylporphyrins.
