Abstract
Highlights ► Captopril (CP) is widely used in Egypt for hypertension. ► Nile River suffers from pollution due to direct and indirect sanitation. ► CP underwent dimerization to Captopril Disulfide (CPDS). ► CP and CPDS underwent abiotic, photo and transformation. ► CP, CPDS and some of their degradation products were identified by LC–UV and LC–MS/MS.
